I been looking for a good 3D JavaScript engine that will allow us to make some kind of html5 game on a mobile but none of them really work on iphones.

Most of the examples do not work with an iphone as they have to many polygons but some do work at 30 frames per second !

These work well in iPhone (3Gs):

This one does not work on iphone (you need to be able to click) but looks like fun. Create a 3d model here: http://mrdoob.com/projects/voxels/ When you finish creating your 3D model the url will be longer copy it to your iphone and you will see your 3d model.

I thought making a game was going to be easy but the network part is starting to be a little nightmare and a challenge.

Jmonkey is an open source 3D engine. Normally java is not considered for games but Jmonkey has already being used in commercial applications.

To create a 3D you also need a network to play on. I think I will use Jxta is open source and p2p so I don’t need a server.

Sharp said Wednesday that it is developing a 3D camera module for mobile devices that it will begin sampling in July.

The module appears to be designed for video as well as still images; Sharp said video up to 720p resolution can be captured. The module will be used for smartphones and digital cameras, the company said. Full story
